Some Final Fantasy white mage-inspired knits!

For Christmas last year, I made my friend, Lyra, a pair of fingerless gloves with some white mage detailing on them – she loves to play a white mage in Final Fantasy XIV, and has saved my blundering lancer many a time.

However, I made them too small! She’s taller than I am and I didn’t take this into account. So, a few months later, I made a replacement pair.

I felt bad that it had taken me so long to rectify my error, so I decided to… make poor Lyra wait even longer while I knitted her a white mage hooded cowl, as well.

All that’s left for me to do now is mail these off to her, and she’ll finally be able to dress like the white mage she plays. It was fun to make some non-hat, non-plushie video game things!

New fingerless mitts pattern – Over and Over Mitts

I managed to get it done within a week – my new free pattern, Over and Over Mitts (on Ravelry)!

Over and Over Mitts – Free

It’s my most customisable mitts pattern to date, including three widths and three lengths for you to mix and match, as well as allowing for further width customisation as you please. I’ve also written the pattern to be knit in the round with switching to rows for a thumb hole, and to be knit totally flat and seamed up the side, depending on what you prefer. Give them a go and see how easy fingerless mitt knitting can be! 🙂

A little late

I’m sorry for the late post – I just can’t get these mitts finished and pattern published today in a state I’m happy with. To make up for it, I’ll be publishing two fingerless mitts patterns in April – this current one, letter O, in the coming week, and the letter P mitts toward the end of the month again. Thanks for your patience.

March fingerless mitts pattern coming tomorrow!

As usual, it’s almost the end of the month and that means another free fingerless mitts pattern is due to be released. I’m working on it right now and it’s taking me a bit longer because I’m making the whole pattern customisable – three lengths and three widths with detailed instructions, and simpler instructions for changing the pattern more to your liking. 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy it!
