Since I have been not focused on designing patterns, I decided to fully close down my Patreon page. It had been inactive (not charging anything) for well over a year, so I thought the time had come to close it for good. I left my Ko-fi open as a tipping option, but honestly, I’m not expecting payments from anyone at all. I appreciate everyone who supported me while I was actively designing.

I made lots of prizes for this marathon, and didn’t get a chance to spotlight them on this blog individually; however, you can view them all on Ravelry by clicking the links on the Finished Video Game Items Master List. I’m so glad to have helped support an amazing charity!

What does this mean with regards to commissions? I’m still accepting them, and updating my queue. The thing is, there may be more of a delay than I had at first told you because of my travelling. I am going to focus on the European commissions while I am in England, because it will be faster for European customers to receive them from there. My queue page will be rearranged to reflect this. No one has been forgotten or ignored. If I finish all of the European commissions during my month stay, I will work on the North American ones again; I won’t stall on your projects just because I’m in the UK.

Thank you all for supporting me by ordering items, spreading the word about my site, or even just reading my blog. It means so much to me to help support myself by doing something I truly love, and something that I hope makes others happy.

This one is nearly identical to the hat I made for Speed Demos Archive‘s Awesome Games Done Quick. The only difference is that this one has eight bumps instead of seven, which (in my opinion) fills the hat out better. Also, this hat took exactly one skein of Vanna’s Choice Baby yarn, in the colorway Sweet Pea. I think it’s the perfect shade for the green katamari ball! My next project follows the katamari vein–I am going to make the Prince of All Cosmos! But while I am making more progress in my customer queue, I will also be making a few small prizes for SDA’s emergency charity event, Japan Relief Done Quick. Yes, that means you can win some of my plushies for donating at least $5 to charity! I will post more details here about the marathon when things are more firmed up. It will take place April 7 – 10, so save the dates, watch some great speedruns, and help us raise money for Doctors Without Borders as they aid the Japanese people in the aftermath of the earthquakes and tsunami.

I really love making hats, in general. This is the first time that I have come up with a hat pattern completely on my own, with no referencing anyone else’s work. I’m very proud of myself! I find it easier to improvise plushies, because, well, they don’t have to fit anyone. It’s satisfying to know that I can, in fact, create things off the top of my head that fit other people’s heads.

I always like the way these turn helmets out, but I’m a bit sick of knitting them right now, haha. I need a break. (Project pages on Ravelry are here and here.) While I enjoy the pattern, after knitting nothing but it for weeks on end–these are the second and third times in just over a month I’ve made it: the Mega Man X hat is also the same–I got sick of it. Part of it is because each is knit flat and then seamed up the back, but I think the main problem is the detail which necessarily goes into them to make them actually look like the characters’ helmets. Never mind the fact that I had to wait to finish them until I could run out to the store to buy orange yarn…! It’s crazy; I have an incredible amount of yarn in my stash, but not even one skein that was true orange. I didn’t want to be inaccurate, so off to the store I went.

Now, I’m onto making two plushies: a green Luma from Super Mario Galaxy and a Flammie from Seiken Densetsu! I haven’t made either of these before, and the change will be much appreciated.

Right now I’m working on the second of two Zero helmets. These things are really time-consuming, but the results are worth it. They have a very helmet-y shape and I’m always happy with the way they look. Still, though, I can’t wait until I’ve moved on down through my queue a bit, heh. I get excited just thinking about taking more on.

Also, I’d like to thank Speed Demos Archive for mentioning me on their front page, in the most recent update (which has been the top post for a little over two weeks now!). It means a lot to me that they support me, because I love the community there. It’s great to play video games, but it’s even more fun to play them fast. 😉
